New, 1 comment

Mezze Mediterranean is now softly open at 4430 Magazine Street (formerly Vida's Bistro and Courtyard Grill) Uptown. New owner Mustafa Yucesoy is offering a limited menu (and limited hours, so do call ahead) of small plates (aka mezze) and entrees hailing From Turkey, Greece, Lebanon and Syria, including vegetarian options, paninis, and 30+ wines. Their Facebook page also promises craft cocktails, beer, and some very friendly looking bartenders. Official opening is expected for next Friday, August 22. Hours: Sunday-Thursday 4 to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight. Phone: (504) 267-3696.

Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar and Fish House is also open at 512 Bienville in the Quarter, reports Sarah Baird this week: "The menu features standard fish house fare... The oyster bar itself serves oysters a number of unusual ways, including 'Bienville style' (with shrimp, green onions and mushrooms) or 'Southwest style' (charbroiled and topped with jalapeno)." Now open daily for lunch and dinner.
