Chef John Besh and BFF/Chopped host/chef Aaron Sanchez are opening a New Orleans location of their casual taqueria Johnny Sanchez in the former Ste. Marie space (930 Poydras) this fall. Todd A. Price reports: "Johnny Sánchez will marry Sánchez's deep knowledge of Mexican cooking with Besh's focus on using high-quality local ingredredients." First comes marriage. Then comes baby in the form of "tacos, tostadas and ceviches, along with a few larger plates." Fear not, ballers, there will also be "dishes with more exotic ingredients" at a higher price point. The first location of Johnny Sanchez opens in Baltimore in August with Besh Group's Miles Landrem (of Restaurant August) in as chef de cuisine.
