Former Stella! Staff Host Blanche'd! Benefit on July 1

Former Stella! employees still haven't received final paychecks after Scott Boswell shuttered the restaurant with no notice to customers and staff alike on June 10, and according to Todd A. Price, they don't expect to. While Boswell's attempt to host a $200/person fundraiser to save Stanley also bit the dust last week, former Stella staff have now pulled together a fundraiser of their own.

The Blanche'd! Benefit will happen at Three Muses (536 Frenchmen) on Tuesday, July 1, at 6 p.m. There's no cover fee, and all food items will be $10 or less, with profits going to all Former Stella! employees, including sous chef Knut Mjelde, who has created a small plates menu that will "play off standards from Stella." Described as "Stella street food" this menu includes oxtail po boys, octopus paella, and deviled eggs. Desserts— eclairs/cake by the slice— will be held down by former Stella! pastry chef Blake Abene, who is also an alum of NYC's famed Corton, and his sous Marie Guevera.

Also very cool: the food has been donated by local suppliers/restaurants and chef Dan Esses and company have let the group use Three Muses for free to host the event. There will also be entertaiment from Kentucky Sister and DJ Brice Nice.
