Popeyes Recipes Sell for $34M; Best Burritos in the South

LGD—In a hunt for the best burritos in the South, Juan's Flying Burrito on Magazine Street nabbed the number ten slot. The only beef with the results? The self-described "Creole taqueria" was labeled as a spot for "Cajun-inspired creations." [fivethirtyeight.com]

NOLA— Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. just shelled out $43 million to the family of Al Copeland, the fried chicken chain's founder, in exchange for the recipes. Before that hefty transaction, Popeyes was paying $3.1 million a year in royalties. [NOLA.com]
