Fire in the disco! Uptown now has a new spot for mezcal and tequila aficionados. Del Fuego Taqueria is now open on Magazine (in the Sukho Thai/Boulangerie vicinity). Chef David Wright brings a menu of updated taqueria classics, including customizable guacamole, tacos and burritos with intriguing filler--think cactus, beef tongue, goat--and even housemade bolilo sandwiches. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the 100+ mezcal and tequila selections (first of all, what's wrong with you?), Gambit food critic Sarah Baird suggests the The good, the bad, and the ugly cocktail as a good place to start with its "smoky mezcal, tamarind agua fresca, housemade triple sec, and a spicy ancho salt rim."
