RIVERBEND— McNulty on Tuesday night pop up Sarsaparilla in Dante's: "From the bar, [Craig] Seaman pours inexpensive craft cocktails and wines while [Jordan] Deis turns the kitchen doorway into a walk-up stand for small plates. A recent menu had arancini, grilled corn custard, lamb-topped masa cakes and even outsized hand-made pretzels for $6 each, plus a generous cheese plate for $13." [Advocate]

BROADMOOR— Social venture incubator Propeller will hold their annual fundraiser/party Propeller Pop 2014, at their hive (4035 Washington Ave) on May 22, 7 p.m., featuring a showcase of Accelerator Fellows,food/beverage from pop ups including Sarsaparilla, Debbie does Doberge, Purloo, Gemelli's, Milkfish, Splendid Pig, Blue Oak BBQ, Dom Vegan Delites, Matt n Amie, and L' Enfant Terible. Plus entertainment, silent auction and more. Proceeds benefit the 2014-2015 Accelerator and alumni programming. Tix are $35 in advance/$40 at the door. [Eaterwire]

NYC— Former Windsor Court chef Jonathan Wright will be the opening chef at the legendary Rainbow Room when it reopens in October. Brett Anderson also dishes on the "groundbreaking chef,: whose short time at The Grill Room "briefly reinvigorated—and rechristened" the restaurant and the local culinary scene as well. NOLA— Todd Price investigates wheelchair accessible restaurants in New Orleans, or the lack thereof, this week. Hot 8 Brass Band trumpeter Terrell Batiste tells Price he is often frustrated by how many places aren't handicap accessible in town: "They don't have ramps, or they might have a ramp and then you get inside and there's no accessible bathroom.
