NOLA—The scorching summer heat is sofreakingclose to setting in, so how about taking a look at nine on-the-market homes around town that are just waiting for a pool party?

LOWER GARDEN DISTRICT—The apartment boom keeps right on rolling through town and next up is the creepily-named St. Anna's Asylum on Prytania Street. A $4 million makeover will turn the building, which dates back to 1853, into 23 apartments.

ALGIERS—Super fun amenity alert! This Algiers listing seems like a regular ole' home for sale until a look in one of the bedroom reveals a twisty tube slide that drops down from the third-floor playroom.

NOLA—There's certainly no shortage of vacant lots around town and putting them to good use is the just-launched Growing Green program. For $250 a year residents can rent an empty lot and make their urban agriculture project dreams come true. Details here.
