Coffee Talk at THNOC, Summer Harvest Gala, & More

QUARTER— Ian McNulty reports that the French Market will host their inaugural Summer Harvest Gala on Wednesday, June 4, which preludes the Creole Tomato Festival (June 7-8). Chef dream team Justin Devillier (La Petite Grocery), Ryan Prewitt (Peche), Nathaniel Zimet(Boucherie) and pastry chefs Bronwen Wyatt (La Petite Grocery) and Jess Stokes (Maurepas Foods) will prepare the family-style dinner, while Cane & Table kicks things off with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. There will also be Abita harvest brews, and music from guitarist John Rankin and also the Creole String Beans. $100/person. QUARTER— NoDef reports that the preliminary round of the New Orleans Oyster Festival's P&J Oyster Shucking Competition are going down today at 5p.m. in the 100 block of Bourbon Street.
