As of July 31, John Besh Restaurant Group will no longer be associated with The American Sector and The Soda Shop at The National World War II Museum. Todd A. Price reports that "the museum has decided not to continue its relationship with the Besh group" after their management contract expires, and the museum also retains the rights to the restaurant names. Sounds like an amicable split though, with the Besh camp issuing this statement via email this afternoon:
For the past 5 years, The John Besh Restaurant Group has been proudly operating the American Sector restaurant in the National World War II Museum. With our current management contract set to expire on July 31, we have been informed that the museum has decided move in a different direction. The John Besh Restaurant Group will remain passionate about the important mission of the museum and the invaluable educational opportunities it provides to all of its visitors and the city of New Orleans. This decision allows the John Besh Restaurant Group to focus on new expansion plans which we will be announcing shortly.
