Reviews For Carrollton Market, Between The Bread

This week Sarah Baird reviews the Riverbend's 'breath of fresh air," Carrollton Market, finding solid cocktails, "comforting and rich" dishes and a few lighter eats too: "Two outstanding dishes — oxtail terrine and lamb pappardelle — could easily become overindulgent, nap-inducing messes in the hands of a chef less skilled than Jason Goodenough, who renders both with a refreshing degree of delicacy." On the lighter side: "The Gulf yellowfin tuna 'hot oil' also is worth exploring." [Gambit]

T-Fitz adorns CBD lunchbreak locale Between The Bread with TWO WHOLE STARS this week: "The freshness of everything served here lifts Between the Bread well above the standard Central Business District luncheonette. That, and its departure from the standard New Orleans sandwich menu, sets it apart." T-Fitz #1 essential dish? Daily Soups because "one of them is always offbeat." +1 Hipness points, but "If they were to replace 20 percent of the dishes made with mayonnaise with others that aren't, the menu would be more appealing."
