Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest Is On, Sing For Your Supper

PONCHATOULA— The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival starts today, April 11 and goes until Sunday, April 13. From The Advocate: "two stages of live music, strawberry-eating contests, sack races, rides, auctions, food vendors and a parade," all about an hours drive from Nola with free admission. [Advocate]

QUARTER— Next Tuesday, April 15 between 5-7 p.m., Hard Rock Cafe (125 Bourbon) will host "Sing for Your Supper," wherein guests can perform a song on their music stage in front of the entire restaurant to receive a free dinner entrée. [Eaterwire]

NOLA— Crawfish Alert: Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar (4338 St. Charles Ave) is now serving crawfish Uptown. Also, Manning's Restaurant (519 Fulton)is serving crawfish every Friday from 4:30 to 10 p.m. in their courtyard. [Eaterwire]

LOUISIANA— Todd A. Price reports that HB 1036— the bill that will allow for charitable donations of booze for non-profit fundraisers/events in Louisiana— has been unanimously approved by the house and is now moving onto the senate.
