COCKTAIL WIRE—Attention bartenders: Tales of the Cocktail has announced that its 2014 cocktail competition will be Hurricane-themed. Drinks must contain at least one rum, some sort of passion fruit, and must be red, or at least, "reddish." First place gets $1,000 and their drink will be the official cocktail of TOTC 2014. NOLA—Speaking of hurricanes, after you down a couple tonight you'll probably need a bathroom. Thankfully, website AirPnP "lets users rent out their bathrooms to strangers in return for a small fee." TREME—Mark your calendars: The Treme Creole Gumbo Festival will be held November 8-9 in Armstrong Park. Expect plenty of food and live music and best of all, admission is free. [NOLA.com]
