Mash it Up, Cafe Hope's Local Food Fest, & More

NOLA— Robin Shannon reports that Raising Cane's maps out its new NOLA locations with plans to open in Gentilly, The Riverwalk, Magnolia Marketplace, and in former KFCs at Forshey and Carrollton and Thalia and St. Charles this year. [CityBusiness, sub req]

QUARTER— Pier 424 took first place at Saturday's Louisiana Oyster Jubilee for their banh mi inspired Ho Chi Minh oyster po boy. Second place went to The Original Pierre Maspero's and third to Felix's. [Eaterwire]

MARRERO— Café Hope's FREE inaugural Local Food Festival, a celebration of local farmers is happening on April 6 from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. in Café Hope's garden (1101 Barataria Blvd). Seasonal dishes from 20 New Orleans' restaurants, including Sylvain, Coquette, Maurepas Foods and more, plus live music from Grammy Award winning Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band and more.
