NOLA— Kalegate has flared up again, thanks to a new article from Aljazeera America that points out "thorny issues currently causing tension within the city—namely gentrification and the vegetable most associated with it." CBD— Ian McNulty reports that Haro, a cafe/chocolate shop, has opened at 703 Carondelet Street: "While it opens early for the morning coffee and pastries, it also stays open late to court an after-dinner niche" with fair trade coffee, housemade chocolates and exotic desserts from the former operator of Green Dot Cafe. COVINGTON— A new non-profit based restaurant is heading to downtown Covington in May. Kim Chatelain reports that Prime by C3 will "dish out enticing culinary creations and jazz music... Instead of making money, the eatery's mission is to not only serve food but to serve the community's needs." [NOLA.com]
