Here's a look around the highly-anticipated Carrollton Market, a brand new Southern farm-to-table restaurant in the Riverbend, officially opening on Tuesday, March 18. Designer Curtis Herring who is currently doing Pizza Domenica worked with chef Jason Goodenough to revamp the space into a sleek, light-filled space, one that will likely be a lot less noisy than former One thanks to some seriously dazzle-camouflaged sound-proofing. Goodenough is gearing up to impress, with a menu of Southern gems, including what's sure to be your newest obsession: deep fried pig 'tail tots' with pickled peppers and garlic chips.
Todd A. Price recently reported that the project is 400 percent over budget, which isn't surprising considering a month ago it looked like this. A few of the myriad new additions adding to that sparkly glow: tables cut from marble slab, a tin ceiling, salvaged hardwood floors, a new air-conditioning unit, the entire bar, shutters, and bathrooms. Not to mention the back of the building needed a total facelift because it was sinking into the ground. Carrollton Market will open for dinner next week, with a plan to possibly add lunch/brunch in future.
