Parkway Bakery & Tavern has just celebrated a 10th anniversary, with Brett Anderson noting: "Ten years is barely enough time for a New Orleans po-boy joint to age into a New Orleans Institution, but Parkway is a special case." In 2004 Jay Nix and family resurrected the po' boy shop, which had long been run/neglected by the curmudgeonly brothers Jake and Bubby Timothy. Read all about the history and renovation of Bayou St. John's iconic po' boy shop right here.
Meanwhile, Laura McKnight notes that Kirk Coco and the NOLA Brewing team will celebrate their 5th anniversary this Friday, March 14, with a bash from 4 to 11 p.m. with live music, beer samples in the tap room. Naturally an Anniversary Ale, a session white IPA will be for sale exclusively during the party.
