Murf Reeves IN as Square Root's Bar Manager

UPDATE: According to Where Yat and representatives from Square Root this bar shuffle can not be confirmed/potentially fell through and Murf Reeves is NOT IN at Square Root. WhereYat has since taken down the article.

Where Yat reports that Murf Reeves— most recently of Ste. Marie fame— will be the bar manager at the highly anticipated Square Root set to open in the next month. Reeves says, "I like Chef Lopez's philosophy on food, and I like what he brings to the city. The coolest part of this gig will be the experimentation."

Behind the back wall, Phillip will eventually build out a test kitchen for his Rebel Restaurant Group. Here, Murf will develop drinks using high-tech tools, like a homogenizer that takes ultrasonic waves and charred wood chips to quick-age spirits.

Expect crazy, thematic cocktail pairings downstairs with the tasting-menu (along with wine pairings), and more "stable" and "seasonal" drinks upstairs, including savory cocktails, as Reeves has been toying with pestos and vegetable shrubs.
