Lafayette-based wine market/cafe/home of the glorious 'Godfather Room' Marcello's is expanding to the Warehouse District in the former Le Chat Noir space (715 St. Charles Ave.) come April, Todd A. Price reports. Owner Gene Tadero has owned the building since 2012, operating Gene's Bar and Theatre, and also adding a kitchen and converting the building into a restaurant space over the past year.
As for the menu, Marcello's chef Blakley Kymen plans to bring their Italian fare plus some new "French fusion" dishes too. There will also be a wine shop attached, so you can purchase a bottle at retail to accompany your dinner. But, honestly folks, fingers crossed there is also a godfather room.
