Megan Braden-Perry spots a new Mexican restaurant in Kenner this week, Santo Tequila Co. (16 W. Airline Highway) that's ditching all things deep fried for fresher from-scratch specialties and, yes, there's tequila. Owner Christian Amaya hopes folks will savor tequila like wine, and as for the authentic fare, "people think Mexican food is big plates, greasy and a lot of calories, but that's not typical Mexican cuisine. In Mexico, dishes are small and proportionate and the food is healthy and made from scratch." [Gambit]
