Uptown's artful fine dining institution Upperline has a new chef, Trent Osborne. Brett Anderson reports that Osborne is a Westbank native who honed his culinary chops at Mike's on the Avenue and Emeril's restaurant group alum and also working with chef Dominique Macquet. Osborne is holding down the classic Upperline menu, but will continue introducing new specials like last month's "tempura baby eggplant smothered in ginger 'barbecue' blue crab."
Meanwhile in boozeville, longtime bar chef of the Commander's family of restaurants, Lu Brow, has departed her post at The Swizzle Stick, Todd Price reports, and is now IN at Brennan's. The recently-reopened megalodon of fine dining from Ralph Brennan and Terry White features a cocktail list of classic drinks and a few contemporary surprises, which Brow will likely help build upon.
