A flurry of pre-holiday openings in the area are adding excitement to the local food and booze scenes.

The ever-prolific Todd Price at NOLA.com provides info on both Metairie's World of Beer opening yesterday and the new and improved Bombay Club opening today, providing four and five facts (respectively) to know about each of them. For World of Beer, in addition to 41 taps and 500 bottles, the bar/restaurant will have live music on the weekends.

For the Bombay Club, new head chef and Thibodaux native Nathan Richard has logged in experience with top shelf chefs like Donald Link, Tory McPhail, and Sean Brock and has created the charcuterie program at Restaurant R'evolution.  The club's British theme will take on a Cajun flavor, and there will be live music every night.

In addition, anticipation for the new pie-focused outpost of District. Donuts. Sliders. Brew. called District Hand Pie & Coffee Bar to open this week has reached a fever pitch. Stay tuned for news on that.
