RIVERBEND: Sparklehorse, a new pop up from Herbsaint employees Marcus Jacobs and Caitlin Carney will make debut on the back patio at Carrollton Market Carrollton Station on December 14. NoDef reports that the duo will serve Asian and Southern inspired foods, so expect a smoker, wok, grill and lots of fire with a fun, block-party style setting. [NoDef]

CBD: The Grill Room hosts a Repeal Day whiskey dinner, celebrating very rare whiskies and the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition on December 5 at 7 p.m. $95/person, menu here. The restaurant also has a new 3-course prix fixe lunch menu with a glass of wine for $30. [Eaterwire]

QUARTER: Commander's matriarch/self-proclaimed oldest living Brennan ever returned to Brennan's last week for the grand reopening, her first time in the restaurant since a family dispute caused the family to split 40 years ago. As for Bananas Foster, Ella claims to have created it herself, serving it over ice cream to which her brother (and former owner) Owen reportedly said, 'Does everything have to be 'a la Walgreens?'
