Brad McGeehee, who recently left Ye Olde College Inn, has revealed his plans for an upcoming lunch and brunch restaurant in Old Metairie. McGeehee tells Eater that he will open Blue Line Sandwich Company in the former Great Wall (2023 Metairie Road) in early 2015.

The restaurant, which will seat about 65, will feature counter-service and lots of "local as possible" farm-to-table action, which you'd expect from a chef that basically turned Ye Olde College Inn into an epicenter of seasonal, locally-sourced dishes during his tenure there. Expect Covey Rise and Chappapeela Farms bounty to abound on the menu, which will feature some healthier fare, and some naughtier items: corned beef, duck pastrami, and bacon will all be made in house. Blue Line won't do dinner, but McGeehee says he may do a happy hour sitch with charcuterie/cheese plates and champagne. Also, during weekend brunch, there will be a Bloody Mary bar.

Major renovation plans include turning the former Chinese restaurant into a stunner with actual windows. Plus new floors, lighting fixtures, and a new facade. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
