The long awaited and highly anticipated Courtyard Brewery will open this Thursday, October 23 at 1020 Erato street. Owners/brewers Scott Wood and Lindsay Hellwig will open the doors on Thursday, October 23, from 2 to 9 p.m., October 24 from from 6 to 9 p.m., and on October 25-26 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Cash only for now, and also their full beer line up won't be available for a couple weeks since the ATC just granted them a license to brew and it takes some time to get dat first batch ready, dawlin'. From beer whisperer Nora McGunnigle:
Wood has begun brewing test batches. Since his beer will take several weeks to come online, however, the first few weeks will feature special guest draft beer while the house beer is brewing. The brewery has 13 taps, but will start with 6 to 8 taps until Wood's beer goes on.
When things settle in, expect Courtyard Brewery to be open Thursdays/Fridays at 4 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays at 11 a.m. with tours on Sundays, and a tap room that close at 9 p.m. The brewery will also be joining forces with NOLA Brewing to start a local guild that will work with the CPC to raise awareness of local breweries' zoning needs.
