MARIGNY: Sarah Baird reports that Bao & Noodle, a new casual Chinese restaurant, is planning to open on October 21 in the former Sound Cafe at 2700 Chartres. Menu here. [Gambit]

NOLA: This week Ian McNulty digs into Cafe Adelaide's barbecue shrimp, Vincent's corn and crabmeat bisque, and Kebab's doner: Chicken thighs boast "discs of pickled cucumber and a bracing spread of mustard and aioli. The house-made loaf - crusty-capped and airy and deeply pocked within - contains it all in a box-shaped package of varying texture, juiciness, crunch and savor." [Advocate]

MID CITY: Booze whisperer Laura McKnight talks boozy boba tea this week, including the Frozen Old Fashioned bubble tea at MoPho: "Tastes just like a standard version of the classic drink, but with daiquiri-like texture of blended ice and the squishy presence of tapioca pearls." [NOLA.com]

FRERET: Or perhaps you prefer pork belly in your Old Fashioned, such as the one they make at Wayfare, which appears on Thrillist's best bacon dishes in Nola this week: "made with pork belly-infused Buffalo Trace bourbon, maple syrup, bitters, and finished off with house-candied bacon." [Thrillist]
