GARDEN DISTRICT — This 4,300-square-foot home started the New Year off by knocking $125,000 off its asking price and that wasn't even the first pricechop. Have a look around.

BYWATER — It was a close race for the Curbed Cup Neighborhood of the Year but when it got down to the nitty-gritty, Bywater beat out the Irish Channel for a year's worth of bragging rights.

CBD — Add two more buildings to the ever-growing list of downtown developments. The triangular building on Howard Avenue sold for $1,525,000 and will be 18 luxury residences. Over on Loyola Avenue, there are plans for a retail/office/affordable apartment combo.

CITY-WIDE — From the Buckner Mansion hogging the spotlight in American Horror Story: Coven to Solange Knowles not buying a Bywater home, check out the most read-posts of 2013.
