Kermit Ruffins will shutter his Treme Speakeasy (1535 Basin Street) the day after Mardi Gras, stating: "I had that restaurant itch, and I think I scratched it enough... I tried and tried, and it's a lot of fun. But for the most part, I'm not even breaking even." Ruffins purchased the legendary Mother-In-Law Lounge in 2012, and plans to roll out live music there in February. [NOLA.com]
