QUARTER— Todd A. Price reports that the always mobbed Jackson Square diner Stanley will be closed Monday, January 6 until Friday, January 10 for a deep cleaning (ie. tourist-goo-be-gone treatment), but the walk-up service bar next door will be open with an abbreviated to-go menu. [NOLA.com]

NOLA— Southern Living's picks for restaurants to watch across The South in 2014 include chef Phillip Lopez' Square Root (opening February) and chef Michael Gulotta's Mopho (opening any day now). NOLA— Robert Peyton on a dining trends he'd like to see in New Orleans: "I'd start with more and better Greek restaurants opening. We have a lot of food from the far eastern end of the Mediterranean sea, but not so much from Greece." [HautePlates]
