Todd A. Price reports that The Sammich, which used to operate out of Chickie Wah Wah, is going brick and mortar on Maple Street the first week of February. The restaurant space (7708 Maple) was set to become a Chappy's (of Kitchen Nightmares fame) but that didn't happen, perhaps due to some tax evasion stuff. Asked if he fears a potentially cursed location—— the rather doomed space has been home to short lived restaurants Big Apple Deli, Antonio's, and Singha Thai Cafe— owner Michael Brewer states, "I don't believe in cursed spots. If you have good food and you're friendly, you can draw from anywhere."

The Sammich— is an Ian McNulty fave— known for insanely luxurious po' boys on the quick— think duck confit and foie gras mayonnaise, osso buco with bone marrow mascarpone mayonnaise and spicy Thai lobster tempura with mango butter— and at the new location, they plan to small plates, wine and beer too in what will be a sort of mix between a sports pub and gastropub, with a family-friendly atmosphere, TVs for games, and all dat.
