Covington Brewhouse, the Northshore brewery that's been operating since 2005, now has new owners, The Advocate reports this week. A group of local investors including a physics teacher David Arbo and Covington's existing head brewer/surf guitarist extraordinaire Brian Broussard, purchased the brewery from previous owner Rob Mingo (and his investment group), though he remains their landlord. The brewery's Founder Henryk "Heiner" Orlik sold his interest to Mingo just last year, Todd A. Price also reports.
Arbo and Broussard plan to expand Covington's beer offerings, and are also considering adding a taproom, much like NOLA Brewing recently did, but that will come in time. As for the near future, a new Anonymous IPA is due out this Fall, with a porter and amber in the works, which will join their 5-beer portfolio including the Strawberry Ale, Pontchartrain Pilsner, and others. Check 'em out online right here.
