Petit Amelie, Gorge-Us Eats Now Open in French Quarter

New, 1 comment

Petit Amelie is now open at 900 Royal. Yes, Cafe Amelie's breakfast/lunch/coffee annex was slated to open in July, but just celebrated their grand opening this Labor Day weekend, and the place looks quite dashing. With pies coming from Uptown hotness P's & Q's and a healthy selection of sandwiches, salads, panini waffle melts, and deli grab-n-go galore, Petit Amelie may be a major gamechanger for downtown folks in search of 'cuisine rapide.' Check out the sample menus for breakfast and lunch.

Meanwhile, NoDef reports that French Quarter locals hang out Cosimo's(1201 Burgundy) has a new in-house restaurant, Gorge-Us Eats, catering to late night drunkypants' dining needs with a slew of beer-battered fried things, po boys, and 'breakfast anytime,' plus more bar fare worthy of sponging up a night o' whiskey. Also, just in time for Saints season, the pop up features a slew of 'bad ass hot wangs.'

According to Co-Owner/chef Daniel Burfield, who runs Gorge-Us Eats with his wife Stephanie, there's also this: "The biggest seller so far has been the meatloaf cupcakes which are house ground angus, balsamic reduction, garlic mashed potatoes, and then chive and bacon sprinkles. So, it's basically, a hearty, manly meat and potatoes meal but in a really pretty, delicate form." NoDef has the full menu right here.
