American Horror Story Shoots at Cure on Freret

Robert Morris reports that Freret Street trailblazer Cure will be featured on Season Three of American Horror Story. The FX show, which stars Jessica Lange, just wrapped shooting a "Coven" witch-themed episode at the bar last week. Owner Neal Bodenheimer tells Morris that production "definitely wanted to use the bar as it was," except for knocking out "an interior wall to add depth to one of the back patio's bathrooms," and then never filming the scene that was intended to feature it. Apparently, Bodenheimer has been wanting to "rework that space anyway," so it's already in planning stages for a renovation.

Meanwhile, Cure retains its Hollywood-South finesse with Will Smith's production Focus shooting at the bar this week too. The craft cocktail haven has also been featured in the major motion pictures The Mechanic and Broken City.
