Satsuma Café is unveiling a new casual dinner option in the Bywater. Their taco pop-up Twilight Tacos opens this Thursday, September 19, at 6 p.m. The menu will feature quick, casual eats including tacos, plus taco BFFs like chips/guac, beans/rice and such. Specialty lemonades and limeades will be geared toward DIY margaritas, but listen up, y'all, it's BYOB, so don't forget the tequila.

Hours: Tuesday-Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday/ Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m.

We've Got Soul has been on hiatus while Marie's gets a new kitchen, but they may be at risk of losing their space their altogether. The renovation/expansion project is up for discussion tonight at the Faubourg Marigny Neighborhood Meeting Agenda, and chef Tres Barnard has taken to Facebook and Twitter fearful that neighborhood opposition will put the kibosh on the plans and pop up. A "reasons to oppose" flyer is apparently circulating around the hood, stating that We've Got Soul and Marie's will create issues of "NOISE," trash, ruin quality of life, and this strangeness: "another great, traditional N'awlins neighborhood lost and changed forever."

Barnard writes:

Since opening, WGS has been a gathering place for tourists and locals combined to come and enjoy great food and amazing company. We chose to open in the Marigny to support, feed and improve the neighborhood we love. If you want to see We've Got Soul open in the Marigny, we urge you to come tomorrow night to the meeting and show your support.

The meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m. this evening at St. Paul Lutheran Church (2624 Burgundy).
