LGD? "Every year, Belgian brewery Cantillon makes an experimental beer called Zwanze," Todd Price reports, and "sends one keg each to bars across America, Europe and Japan." Avenue Pub happens to be one of the lucky few. The 2013 Zwanze will be poured this Saturday, September 14, at 2 p.m. [NOLA.com]

WAREHOUSE DISTRICT? Booze whisperer Anne Berry reports that Glazer's Star Hodgson will create cocktails (including her specialty shrubs) to pair with small plates for Slow Food's 'Slow Pickle' dinner, next Friday, September 20 at Café Carmo (527 Julia) from 6 to 8 p.m. Proceeds will help send local kids and farmers to Slow Food's conference in Italy next year.
