Ian McNulty OUT at Gambit, IN at The Advocate

Huge critic shuffle this week, with longtime alt weekly food scribe Ian McNulty leaving the Gambit for the Advocate. An Advocate staff report reveals that:

McNulty will write regular features devoted to the area's booming food scene in Wednesday's EatPlayLive section. He also will cover restaurants for the paper's weekly entertainment section, Beaucoup, which appears on Thursdays.

No word on if Advocate food contrib Scott Gold will be staying on too, or who will replace McNulty at the Gambit. But let's be honest, there is no replacement for this guy. If food writing gigs were chainsaws, Ian McNulty would be the gnarliest rat-tailed juggler on the New Orleans' carnie scene, and that being said, The Advocate is letting him keep his weekly Where Y'Eat radio show. Whether he'll be allowed to do his After Hours blog or ever appear as the Un McKnownty critic on WWLTV again is another question.
