Fast-casual burrito & booze favorite Felipe's will open their third location in the franchise infestation known as Mid City Market(411 N. Carrollton) on Friday, August 23. Actually, if there's one restaurant you should be excited to see open in this new traffic-jam-generating/bread bowl of chain foolery, locally-owned Felipe's is the one. From the press release:
With our indoor dining area, big bar, and outside seating with patio televisions, Felipe's will be the perfect hang out spot for the Mid-City community.
On Saturday, Felipe's will host a fundraiser to benefit Ocshner's Cancer Center in honor of Elio Todaro, a Felipe's Taqueria New Orleans founder who sadly lost his battle with cancer earlier this year. There will be a live Mariachi band on hand. But take warning: The stripmall will likely be overrun by screaming children, as neighbor Pinkberry also opens on Friday, August 23. No word on upcoming Five Guys opening date as of yet, but looks like the place will be ready to open extremely soon as well.
Meanwhile, Marta Jewson reports that Baskin-Robbins will be opening a location at 406 N. Carrollton, in one of the small store fronts located in front of Rouse's, across the street from Pinkberry.
