Booze whisperer Todd A. Price reports that two new rums from Louisiana Spirits out in Lacassine/rice country have now hit the shelves. Silver Bayou Rum and Spiced Bayou Rum are now available for purchase, just in time to dabble in hot as hell Dark and Stormy season.
As for the distillery, Price reports:
Louisiana Spirits has been in the works for three years. Even though the first products just arrived on the market, the distillery already is expanding. Construction has begun on a 12,000-square-foot addition, which will hold supplies and an aging room. In the next few weeks, Louisiana Spirits will fill 125 used Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels with rum. Trey Litel, Louisiana Spirits prez, hasn't yet to divulge when this aged rum will be available. The pictures above were captured during Eater NOLA's recent visit to the distillery.
