The Mid-City Messenger's Marta Jewson reports that, on Tuesday, the City Planning Commission approved plans to turn Irma Thomas's old music club at 540 S. Broad St. into a cocktail lounge. Representing B-3 Consulting, LLC, the company that owns the property on S. Broad, Attorney Rene Louapre said that the owners' current goal "is to get a similar club with live music back up and running in that location." However, the staff recommendation to the Planning Commission, "pursuant to 15 provisos," still doesn't allow for live music. [Mid-City Messenger]
