Cane and Table opened on Decatur last week, just in time for Tales of the Cocktail. Boasting the super-team alliance of cocktail guru Neal Bodenheimer, Chefs Adam Biderman and Ian Bancroft, and managing partner Nick Detrich, Cane and Table has reinvented the former Pravda space as a "rum bar and island-themed restaurant," something Bodenheimer calls "proto-tiki." Don't expect something that looks like a Tahitian tourist trap, though?Bodenheimer has, by all accounts, taken a more studied approach to the bar's concept, explaining in a recent Gambit interview that he and his team "started with the idea of rum culture and punch culture from the colonial era onwards. It's all the stuff that later built into tiki."
