Killer Po-Boy's Cam Boudreaux and April Bellow will unveil their new pop-up Dis Taco in Molly's At The Market next Friday, July 19, right smack during Tales of the Cocktail. Ian McNulty reports that the pop-up will be as "imaginative" as Killer Po Boys, sourcing locally, and improving Decatur's late night food offerings one delicious, reinterpreted taco at a time. Chances are the Killer duo will put the new-school smack down on the taco, much like they do the po' boy, with Boudreaux telling the Gambit: "International street food, anything that can be folded over and hand held, we'll have no problem calling it a taco."
Of the menu, here's what Boudreaux tells McNulty to expect:
Coriander and citrus Gulf fish with corn crema and hibiscus slaw, yogurt and Aleppo chili marinated lamb with tahini eggplant spread and cucumber sumac salsa and a lentil "tortilla" with vegetable masala, sprouts and tamarind chutney. There's also a dessert taco in the works with grilled banana, cinnamon, Nutella and cayenne.
So if you're wondering if there's anything that pairs with Molly's famous frozen Irish Coffee, the answer is hells yes. Dis Taco will operate Friday-Sunday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., with plans to expand hours after summer.
