Earlier today, Bravo totally scooped a new venture forthcoming from Masters chetestapants/five time James Beard nominee Sue Zemanick. Well, Zemanick confirms that she along with Gautreau's owners Patrick and Rebecca Singley will be opening a new cocktail lounge and small plates hotspot come late July in the space formerly occupied by Vizard's (5015 Magazine). Makes sense given the name of the upcoming venture, Ivy, as a good portion of the small building is adorned in the stuff. UPDATE 6/14: Patrick Singley tells Eater that Ivy is a small plates restaurant, not a cocktail lounge: "Though we'll have cocktails, it's not like a Cure, or something like that. It's a restaurant."
This means that Kevin Vizard's latest go at a restaurant in the space, Hevin by Kevin, sadly appears to be shuttered for good. Also, Zemanick does confirm that Singley IS involved with a project going in at the former Wolfe's/Marti's/Peristyle space, but she herself is not involved. She says that Ivy will have a bit of a lounge feel, with an emphasis on cocktails, but no word on any mixologists involved at this time.
