Robert Morris reports that chef/proprietor of Cowbell, Brack May, is one step closer to opening family style/barbecue take out joint Porkpie Provisions in Central City, as the City Planning Commission has given him a thumbs up. The restaurant will be located in the former Louisiana Seafood at 2900 Lasalle. Back in May, the commission deferred their decision about project, urging May? who also lives in the neighborhood? to meet with his neighbors and discuss requirements proposed by the city planning staff, which he did.
Of those requirements, the commission approved that PorkPie Provisions should have a fence around the property, which both May and some representatives of the Central City community believe would make neighbors feel excluded from the restaurant, but as of now it is in the plan, and on the way to City Council for final approval.
