NOLA?Susan Langenhennig reports that the "eat local" trend has become a full-blown competition. Starting with a garden party at the downtown Rouse's on Friday, May 31, the month-long Eat Local Challenge asks that, for the month of June, participants only eat foods grown or harvested within a 200-mile radius of New Orleans. More than 40 local restaurants are participating, including August, Café Degas, and High Hat, to name just a few. []

NOLA?The city-wide food truck procession Rolling Through continues Tuesdays in June. Neighborhoods where you can catch your favorite mobile vendors include (in this order) Bayou Treme (June 4), Central City (June 11), Broadmoor (June 18), and Bywater (June 25). [My House NOLA]
