NOLA?Susan Langenhennig reports that the "eat local" trend has become a full-blown competition. Starting with a garden party at the downtown Rouse's on Friday, May 31, the month-long Eat Local Challenge asks that, for the month of June, participants only eat foods grown or harvested within a 200-mile radius of New Orleans. More than 40 local restaurants are participating, including August, Café Degas, and High Hat, to name just a few. [NOLA.com]
