At long last, Warren Chapoton's arms can take a rest? The Lucky Rooster's sign has just gone up and Eater has the photographic evidence to prove it. Ahead of its projected opening late in May, the restaurant-to-be has posted a series of "time-lapse" photos of their renovations at 515 Baronne, complete with notes about aesthetics and a once-stubborn frog population.
So signage is up and the website is up for the Asian street food restaurant formed by supersquad GM Joe Briand from Herbsaint, Chapoton from Juan's/Slice, and Chef Neal Swidler from Delmonico. Anything else you should know? On Sunday May 26, from 7-9 pm, Briand and John Mitchell of Stella will host a special Sherry Tasting, where they'll be paving the way for a relaxing Labor Day morning by pouring 12 different sherries. Charcuterie/cheese will be on hand for sherry pairing, and an after party at Bacchanal will follow for all those tasters who want to officially inaugurate the summer season. The whole shebang is $50/per person, and you can make your reservations by emailing info@luckyroosternola.com.
