Legacy Kitchen Heads to Vets, Pizza Domenica Still a Go

Maria Clark of City Business reports that the owners of nine locations of New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood, Paul McGoey and business partner Gary Wiener, are opening an upscale restaurant called Legacy Kitchen in Metairi at a former Shoney's (759 Vets). The restaurant will serve "refined American comfort food" including local seafood, steaks, gourmet burgers and craft cocktails. Legacy Kitchen opens in early June. The duo also plans to open a second café at 916 Vets in August.

Susan Langenhennig of the Times-Pic reports that plans for a new Pizza Domenica, which will be a more casual offshoot of John Besh and Alon Shaya's Domenica, are still moving forward. Besh tells Langenhennig that it will be "a smaller pizza and craft cocktail bar with both counter service and to-go style pizzas, with all the ones we love from Domenica." Still no word on the location yet, except that it will either be Uptown or in Mid City.
