A brand new three-story building, which includes plans for a pizza restaurant, may be headed to the vacant lot at 520 Frenchmen near Three Muses, reports reports the Times-Pic's Richard A. Webster, or is one step closer at least, getting the first nod from the Historic District Landmarks Commission's Architectural Review Committee yesterday. The first two floors of the building, about 8,000-square-feet, will hold the 130-seat pizza restaurant? no report on the name, or potential proprietors time? and the third floor would be split into three condominiums.
The project will go up before the full commission on May 9, and if they get permits to build, it could be the first construction on Frenchmen in 30 years, according to Charles Silbernagel of CLS Architects. Dat Dog also recently announced plans to build a brand new location on the vacant lot/crusty-hangout at 601 Frenchmen.
