FAT CITY? The Fat City food truck rally, which the Times-Pic reports is "an effort to inject new energy into Metairie's former nightlife district and to provide a new venue for rolling restaurants," is for tonight, April 15, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 18th Street and Edenborn Avenue with vendors like Foodie Call, Rue Chow, and more. QUARTER? Greg Sonnier tells the Gambit that the newly opened Kingfish plans to "open a take-out shop called Kingfish Counter with a separate entrance on Chartres Street to serve sandwiches, snacks and butcher shop items." [Gambit]
NOLA? Judy Walker reports that Chef Susan Spicer is teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank for the fourth annual Harvest at Home. Basically, you gather a group of family/friends for an evening of dining at-home in May, and donate the money you saved to fight hunger. You can also donate $250, and receive a bag of groceries and Susan Spicer's recipe, or $500 (which includes an autographed cookbook). More info here. [NOLA.com]
