Legendary local chefs John Besh and Susan Spicer will be representing New Orleans on this year's selection committee for Eater Young Guns. For the full, national list of selection committee members, including Mario Batali, David Chang, Alice Waters and more, see Eater National. And what is an Eater Young Gun, you ask? Launched last year with an inaugural 16-person class, Eater Young Guns aims to identify the most promising up-and-comers in the restaurant and nightlife world, whether they're working as chefs or line cooks, sommeliers or bartenders, restaurateurs or maître d's. Oh, by the way, there are ten days left to make a nomination.
Nominees must be under 30 years of age (or have worked in their chosen field for less than five years) and must be currently employed in the hospitality industry in the United States. Though you most likely haven't yet heard their names, they must show extraordinary promise. These kids are the future, those that will soon lead the business but have yet to receive critical attention.
Again, nominations can be made right here. If you have additional supporting materials, please send them our way at youngguns@eater.com. This nomination process will be open until March 15, so get cracking.
