A tipster just sent over a photo of a letter that Jason Doyle posted outside of the Huey's 24/7 at the Wyndham Garden informing employees that they are, erm, no longer employed. Well, this definitely gives the impression that he didn't tell any of them in person, but let's hope they had a clue that the Wyndham Garden had been trying to evict Huey's before they even opened. Still, it's not a Good Friday for those folks, though it's not that surprising, considering Doyle has a history of shady Huey's shutterings, in which employees are given no notice, but simply thrown out or locked out of the restaurants.
The letter also claims employees will be able to pick up their final paychecks on April 8 at New Orleans Famous Beignets, which is a Doyle restaurant operating at 620 Decatur Street. Here's the real zinger though. There is not one mention of an apology, and Doyle writes "If you need to contact me directly please feel free to do so... by phone at 1-800-204-8810 extension 4." In case any of you disgruntled former employees want to speak with his "personal assistant's" voice mailbox.
