J'anitas proprietor/pub food wizard/sometimes-ranting columnist Craig Giesecke will be the chef at Warehouse Grille, a new restaurant opening later this week at 869 Magazine in the former McGuire's Pub in the Warehouse District. The upcoming bar and grill is owned by Donnie Thomas and Chris Keene. According to the Facebooks, Warehouse Grille has all permits in hand, and today marks the beginning of their opening week. A call to the restaurant verifies the soft opening is slated for this Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. Expect a grand opening over the weekend.
"As we get ready to open a new venture, we're loading up the place with all the groceries and various other supplies needed to begin operations," Giesecke writes for the Uptown Messenger this week. "We're also hiring staff, assembling furniture, arranging shelves" and all that pre-opening fun stuff. No word on the menu yet.
UPDATE: Executive Chef Donald Julian, formerly of the Hilton Riverside will be heading up the kitchen, though Craig Gieseke is also on board, reports Todd A. Price.
